Educational Qualification
Field Engineer (Electrical)
- a full-time B.E., B.Tech, or B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited university or institute
- Design, engineering, building, testing, commissioning, and O&M experience in Rural Electrification (RE), Distribution Management System (DMS), Sub Transmission (ST), Transmission Lines (TLs), and Sub-stations (S/S) are required one year after receiving a degree.
Field Engineer (Electronics & Communication)
- a full-time degree in electronics and communication engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited university or institute
- A year’s post-degree experience in the design, engineering, building, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a telecommunications system is required.
Field Engineer (IT)
- Full-time B.E., B.Tech, or B.Sc. (Engg.) degree in information technology or a related field from an accredited university or institute
- Must have one year of experience in design, engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of information technology systems, as well as networking.
Field Supervisor (Electrical)
- Electrical or a related full-time diploma from a reputable technical board or institute
- One year of post-qualification experience in electrical construction, testing, and commissioning, as well as operation and maintenance, is required. This experience can be found in Rural Electrification (RE), Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Sub Transmission (ST), Transmission Lines (TLs), and Transmission Substations (S/S).
Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication)
- Full-Time Diploma in Electronics and Communication or a related field from a reputable technical board or institute
- A year’s post-degree experience in the design, engineering, building, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a telecommunications system is required.
Candidates having Experience in POWERGRID on contract basis
- Candidates may submit a new application for the position of Field Engineer or Field Supervisor in POWERGRID if they have previously held the positions of Field Engineer (AE) or Field Supervisor (JE) for at least one year and are still employed there or have separated.

Power Grid PGCIL Recruitment Selection Process
For Field Engineer
- Only interviews will be used to choose the qualified and shortlisted candidates. The Management does, however, reserve the right to increase the minimal qualifying standards / criteria, conduct a screening test, and/or limit the number of applicants contacted for a personal interview, as necessary.
- If a screening test is administered, it will only serve to eliminate candidates and will not count toward determining the winner.
- Based on their performance in the screening test, candidates who pass the test will be chosen for an interview.
For Field Supervisor
- Selections will be based on reviewing applications in light of required experience profiles and eligibility requirements, as well as having qualified individuals take a screening test.
- Candidates who pass the screening exam will be appointed in the order of merit of their screening test scores.
Scheme of the Test
- The examination would last an hour.
- Technical Knowledge Test: 50 questions based on the applicable engineering curriculum.
- 25 questions on logical thinking, data interpretation, understanding, vocabulary, data sufficiency, and numerical skills are included in the aptitude test.
- There will be no negative marking, and all questions will be MCQs with four alternatives and equal weight (1 mark each).
In the personal interview/screening test, candidates may choose to speak in Hindi or English.
